My ideas stem from an interest in antique lace and crochet patterns and the elements of symmetry, repetition, and texture found in nature. By using imagery gleaned from the minute details of flowers, plants, shells, fruits and vegetables paired with elements of pattern, I create an abstracted vocabulary that evokes a sense of both familiarity and curiosity within the work.
